Welcome

  • Welcome to The Sparrow's Nest! My name is Mrs. Wilt. I am a Christian, saved by grace. Aside from being a wife and mommy, I enjoy reading, drinking coffee and hot tea, listening to classical music, gardening, sewing, and working on our 1933 home. So, pour yourself a cuppa and let's chat!

NOTE: This site's comments are moderated by a busy mommy, so if yours doesn't show up right away, have no fear! As soon as Johnathan takes his nap and Christopher settles down with a book I'll get them online- I promise! :o)

Anti-Procrastination Challenge: Thursday

Cl234bdFirst things first...yesterday's AP Challenge winner was...

KRIS!!!

Congratulations, Kris! Please e-mail me at mrskwilt@yahoo.com with the name of the e-book that you wish to receive. Enjoy your new sheets on your bed and your newly-organized coupons! :o)

Let me just say how proud I am of everyone who has decided to tackle a project this week. It is difficult sometimes to overcome the mental barrier for certain projects when they seem overwhelming, but in reality only take a couple of minutes. Since I can't give everyone a hug, I thought these kitties (shown above) would show how proud I am of each and every lady who accomplishes even a little goal of anti-procrastination this week. HUGS FOR YOU!!!

My AP Challenge for today is nearly completed. I washed Mr. Wilt's yard work laundry (EWWW!) and it is ready to be folded. I am also making a recipe for our dinner tonight that I keep buying the ingredients for and never seem to make- and it's a CROCKPOT recipe, for goodness' sake! :o) Here is the recipe from Flylady's website:

Continental Chicken

6-8 chicken breasts
1 pkg dried beef
1/4 cup sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup
6-8 slices bacon
1/4 cup flour

Arrange dried beef in bottom of greased crockpot. Wrap chicken in bacon and lay on dried beef. Mix sour cream with flour, then with mushroom soup. stir well and pour over chicken. cover and cook for 8-10 hours on low. This is good by itself or you can serve over noodles or rice. Add a salad and you have a great meal. :o)

Good luck with your AP Challenge today!

Well I have a long list today but I know that it all can be accomplished.

I've already finished my challenge for today and that was to deep clean the house as Thursday is my regular cleaning day. I've dusted, vaccuumed, swiffered, and polished! I also dusted those pesky areas like the ceiling fan blades (yuck!) and other high light fixtures. I have dinner all prepped for tonight as well and it's freezer chicken enchiladas that I got from this site (thank you!). They look yummy and I used leftover roast chicken from last Sunday's dinner and will use every bit of those birds for about 3 dinners. :)

I organized my Servants' Quarters for my AP project for the day. :) I may do two tomorrow.

My mission is posted (as well as my accomplishments from yesterday's mission). I am going to get all of our Holiday stuff PUT AWAY. It has been a whole month now...time to move on.

Rean Day

WOW! Does that recipe sound rich and delicious. I'm going to try working this into my menu plan in the next couple of weeks. I bet it smells wonderful too. Can you tell it is nearing lunch time? Haa ha

My project for today is de-cluttering my desk area, worktable and book basket.

Today's tasks are posted!

I am working on some journals that I have been putting off for a while. I love a challenge and this has been so fun! I think we should keep it up for next week! ;o)

Love, Heather

I've posted today's project on my blog...living room mantle...before and after! Thanks for this motivational challenge!

Today I put away some books that have been stacked in the corner ever since Christmas. My husband and I buy each other loads of books for Christmas every year, but never have room on the bookshelf for them. So I finally got around to "making" room for them. I also made up my menu early so that I wouldn't be trying to think of what to cook as I'm running out the door to the grocery store. What fun this is! Thanks!

Thanks for all the motivation! I got 2 projects done today, the mail basket, and I washed the bedding in the master bedroom. I'm actually having fun getting this stuff done....who'd have thunk? lol

Lots of little things accomplished today--organized Seth's coloring book cabinet, made a phone call I'd been putting off (and finally got my $50 rebate because of the phone call--it's only been 9 months!), scrubbed the tops of my cabinets, organized my filing drawers. . . and the day isn't over yet! Love this challenge! :)

Thanks for the motivation. I've been sick all week, so besides getting caught up on house type things, I decided to tackle the bookcase. It looks so much better! I wrote about it and posted before (yikes!) and after pictures on my blog.

I cleaned and organized my laundry area today--something I've been procrastinating on for a long time! Thanks for the motivation!

I'm a longtime lurker/reader. This challenge was just what I needed to make myself known. Thank for all your inspiration.

Mine is a little different, as I didn't get any extra housework done. I played checkers with my kiddo - much appreciated by him. It's on my blog now.

My AP challenge: I called the phone company for the $30 credit I've been owed for over 2 years!

This has been such a good thing! If nothing else it makes you think of the things that you put off. Sometimes they've been put off so long you don't notice them anymore!

Today I cleaned the bottom of my pantry, took a big load to the recycling center, and cleaned off my kitchen cabinets and bar; and reused some roses my dd got after doing the Nutcracker Ballet into a few craft projects(yes, we still had the dying roses sitting around in a vase)!!

I'm on a roll! :0) I have needed a good kick in the seat for the last several weeks. I have procrastinated many projects/areas in my home. Shame on me! I have accomplished so much in the last two days. I thank you for your motivation. However, I am most thankful to the Lord that I might be home every single day to keep our home. What a blessing it truly is to spend my time cleaning out a closet with my wee little ones helping.

Most sincerely,
Mrs. Klause

I am SO late with this tonight, and it's so little done that I'm almost ashamed to say I did anything. But I just reassured a friend today that anything accomplished is better than nothing at all. So I decided to take a little of my own advice!
