Welcome

  • Welcome to The Sparrow's Nest! My name is Mrs. Wilt. I am a Christian, saved by grace. Aside from being a wife and mommy, I enjoy reading, drinking coffee and hot tea, listening to classical music, gardening, sewing, and working on our 1933 home. So, pour yourself a cuppa and let's chat!

NOTE: This site's comments are moderated by a busy mommy, so if yours doesn't show up right away, have no fear! As soon as Johnathan takes his nap and Christopher settles down with a book I'll get them online- I promise! :o)

Anti-Procrastination Challenge: Saturday

Wifesure170 First things first...yesterday's AP Challenge winner was...

EMILY!

Congratulations, Emily! Your daughter looks so grown-up with her newly-cut bangs! Don't forget to e-mail me at mrskwilt@yahoo.com with the title of the e-book in the right sidebar that you wish to receive! :o)

Today, let your Anti-Procrastination Challenges deal with something we have been meaning to do with our FAMILIES- whether it be getting outside to play, reading a special book, or having a "date night" with your certain someone...you get the idea!

This morning our little family went out for a lovely brunch at Cracker Barrel. It was DELICIOUS! Then, we put the wee one down for naps and ran 'round the backyard with Cinder and Christopher...it was SO much fun! And...something that we truly don't do as often as we would like. :o)

Ooooh, and by the way, Sunday is our day off. The only thing I want you to do is focus on the Sabbath. Nothing else! :o) Monday will be our LAST day of the Challenge. Hope to see you back for our last day!

It's interesting that you should mention this, Mrs. Wilt, because earlier today my husband and I were talking about what I should do for a "challenge" for tomorrow and I was thinking of doing "Go to bed early" since I ALWAYS procrastinate on my bedtime and my family really reaps my grouchiness from not enough sleep... :| But I tacked that onto today's. ;)

I love your family-project/time suggestion. :) What a great finale! :)

*smile* Ok, ok....I posted and linked you back to your home, Mrs. Wilt!! Since I got started late, I do believe this must be the "easiest" challenge!! Singing & Joy to you!

Good idea! We're long overdue for a family game night, so I think we'll do that. I also wanted to mention that my screen name here will be changed from Mrs. Martin to Step as there is another Mrs. Martin and I don't want to confuse anyone. My name is Stephanie, but there was another one by that name here too. I doubt there will be another Step! All my friends call me Step (as opposed to Steph) and have since I was a small girl. :)

Mrs.Wilt, For Saturday's Anti-Procrastination Challenge Dh and I will be Decluttering some more in our Home, we will have an at Home Date as well.

Mrs. Wilt,
This has nothing to do with the Anti-procrastination challenge(which I am enjoying), but I made the oven fried chicken last night for dinner....I loved that chicken. Thank you so much for sharing that recipe. My husband loves fried chicken and I only make it about once every two years because I do not like to fry anything!!! So, this is a blessing to me and for him.

Hi,

I've done my challenge and blogged on it...there isn't a link here for Saturday yet for adding my name. Will you be adding one soon?

Love Michelle

Hi Mrs. Wilt!
My dear husband and I purchased a wonderful at-home marriage improvement package months ago due to many changes and difficulties we were experiencing. Finally, last night, I picked up some wonderful cheese, crusty bread, and sparkling cider for an evening with him. We put the kids to bed and snuggled up to watch the first marriage video and hopefully rebuild our happy home!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Thanks for the challenge ;)

Hi Mrs. Wilt,
Today for my anti-procrastination challenge, I made my husband one of his favorite things for breakfast. Then in a couple of hours dh,dd and I are going to visit an elderly friend in the nursing home. We have been meaning to all week, but finally decided to stop procrastinating!
Thanks!

Mrs. Wilt --- I've posted my challenge to my blog (http://parkjm.blogspot.com). Didn't see the link so I'm just leaving a comment instead.

I was waiting for the link but am posting here instead. You must be following your advice and be out having fun with your family!

We went to a family day at the Christian book store, then played outside, ran an errand as a family (rarely happens that way), then went for a walk. What a beautiful day to be outside together!

Well I did not Procrastinate on this! YEAH ME! I posted what we did today and also my other challange from uhm??? the day before, Oh I am such a bad Procarstinator!

Well this one was easy! I sure wish I had found out about this a lot sooner, I would have been able to get so much more done!

I posted what our family is doing today.

My family thanks you for this challenge, it has afforded them two family nights in one week!

Today was a lovely day for us. We do not usually procratinate for family time. Life is too short for that. :) We did have some fun time outside and shopping for a bike, which we couldn't find. It is on my blog, nothing too exciting for today, but that is ok with us. :)
Blessings,
Michelle

After my husband got home from work and I took the eldest to his basketball game while the others (who are mostly ill) hung out with Grandma...We just hung out...did a few soda bottle fights --like a pillow fight (very fun!!...they were empty of course!). Watched some snowboarding on t.v. and a television show about Ireland...the kiddoes loved it! And...had a nice time chatting and talking about our day. At dinner, Daddy posed the question "what was your favorite part of the day"...the 4 year old said "our bottle fights!!".

What a nice day DH and I had. Thanks for the challenge Mrs. Wilt. I look forward to Monday.

Rean Day

I posted about a project we did today but I just wanted to say that we also (dh & I) went out for a date tonight. Our family usually rotates spending one-on-one time with one another each week, but during football season we all like to do that together so the dates go out the window. Well, tonight our dd's have their best friends over for a sleepover so dh & I went to BAM and then for dessert at McDonald's. It had been a LONG time since we'd done anything alone together.

Yesterday, Saturday, I didn't post on my blog, but I finally got some things listed on Ebay that my husband had been wanting to get on there to sell. He was HAPPY...and I was HAPPY that he was HAPPY! LOL
Have a wonderful weekend!
Amy

dh and I slept in a bit then called someone to come and care for our 4 dc and then went on a date - oh gasp, what is that, :) and enjoyed the time by ourselves then home in time for a batch of stew for supper and small group
