Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
I popped one of these in the oven just a few minutes ago for our new pastor's commissioning luncheon tomorrow after church and thought I'd pass this recipe on. :o)
16 oz. box macaroni
shredded cheddar cheese (the sharper the better)
1 stick of butter
salt and pepper to taste
milk
Boil macaroni and drain. Grease the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan with a pat of butter (this keeps the noodles from sticking stubbornly to the bottom of your pan). Pour drained noodles into pan. Salt and pepper noodles to taste. I usually salt and pepper, then stir the noodles so they are evenly coated. Cut several pats of butter (small tsp. ones) and disperse evenly throughout noodles. Pour milk into 9 x 13 pan- eyeball it by looking at the side of the casserole dish. When you see the white milk line hit about halfway up the side, then stop. :o) Sprinkle cheese on top to your liking (I like a BUNCH!). Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Broil for a few additional minutes to get that lovely brown cheese on top. YUM! :o)

Yum, I'm sending this to my daughter. (I've already called her attention to many items the past couple of weeks on your blog!)

Hello Mrs. Wilt. I have been visiting your site for sometime and thought I'd stop in to say Hi and introduce myself. I just love all your ideas and recipes and I am looking forward to trying this Mac n Cheese recipe. I am a mom of five, four boys and one girl and I have to tell you that your boys remind me so much of my first two sons when they were little, they look so much alike it is amazing! :) They are now 20 and 17! time goes by fast treasure the moment. :) Hannah is my little girl and she will be eight, and I have two other boys in the middle, what a blessing they all are. I am from the midwest (Iowa) and the times I visit your site are mostly in the wee hours on the weekends when I am not busy, as I work as an RN, nights and on the weekends only. I truly enjoy reading all about your ideas, thank you! Blessings.

Thank you for this recipe. I am trying it out (double quantity) for us, our four kids and a visitor -- a very hungry 12 year old boy. It is the first mac cheese recipe I've seen without a roux or a bechamel sauce, which makes it *much* easier at short notice.
