Welcome

  • Welcome to The Sparrow's Nest! My name is Mrs. Wilt. I am a Christian, saved by grace. Aside from being a wife and mommy, I enjoy reading, drinking coffee and hot tea, listening to classical music, gardening, sewing, and working on our 1933 home. So, pour yourself a cuppa and let's chat!

    NOTE: This site's comments are moderated by a busy mommy, so if yours doesn't show up right away, have no fear! As soon as Johnathan takes his nap and Christopher settles down with a book I'll get them online- I promise! :o)

Busy, Busy, Busy

Ssch-Oma-Hand201~Daisy-Cupped-in-Tired-Hands-Posters

Hi there. It's me.

You know, that girl who used to blog here. SEVERAL times a day. I'm still here...I promise. Really. :o)

It's been a bit since I last posted, and I wanted to let everyone know what has been going on around our Nest. Mr. Wilt has been in interviews for a new job (in North Carolina), and we have been traveling, and traveling, and traveling for the past month or so. It stands in fair stead that we will be listing our home on the market in just a few weeks as this (wonderful) job looks very promising. Mr. Wilt has been through 3 interviews so far as well as a mathematical aptitude test and has done extremely well. I'm so proud of him and his hard work.

Needless to say, all of this activity has kept my fingers off the keyboard and instead holding paintbrushes, putting things into boxes, sewing, and many other activities. Things have been so busy around here (and NOT around here, too!). Please forgive my lack of activity here and know that I am serving my family right now during this time of change. I miss every one of you and will attempt to go through the many comments that are waiting for moderation. Our family truly appreciates your thoughts and prayers right now. I will reveal more information when I can.

Until I have a bit more time to spare,

Mrs. Wilt

Away for a Bit

We will be in and out of town (busy, busy, busy) until next Wednesday, so things will be a little quiet here at the Nest until then. Mr. Wilt will have his laptop with him, so I should be able to check in every now and then to see how everyone is doing. We would appreciate your prayers for safe travel and I will miss you all! :o)

Your Prayers Appreciated

Dsc00556

Well, we are finishing up our projects this month and then La Casa Wilt will be on the market (a bit later than we had imagined, but you have to take life as it comes!). We are currently demolishing renovating our main level bath, then finishing up a bit in the basement bath. After that, it's our bedroom and we're ready to go. It's scary to think what the house looked like when we first moved in compared to how it looks now. God has really blessed our meager efforts in such a powerful way. With His blessing, we have become almost renovation-savvy (yikes!) and not been in the hospital to prove it (yet!). LOL

I would ask prayer for a few things specifically:

  • that we will finish up our last projects quickly and with quality;
  • that the Lord would go before us and prepare the hearts and situation of the new owners;
  • that He would go before us and prepare a new nest for us; and
  • that He would provide Mr. Wilt a new job in His timing and that we will be submitted to it.

I am so very thankful for my friends here at the Nest and for the blessing and encouragement you are to me. God is so good. :o)

Ya'll are the best. I mean it.

You have no idea how encouraging your words are to me as a homemaker, and how seeing your thoughts cheers my day. Love and <<hugs>> to everyone!

I just wanted to take a minute and say that. :o)

PS- I've used up all my words for today just typing. I promise...no more posts today. Really. ;o)

Your Prayers Appreciated

47020487playingnursesickdogposter_2 Dear Friends,

I truly, humbly covet your prayers this week. Our poor little family has been sick in rounds for the last month, and we finally seem to be coming out of the cloud of illness (finally!). I, however, have taken a turn for the worse. I am constantly coughing and congested- yesterday (and today as well) I was hardly able to speak. This presents a problem for me as I have been asked to share at a dear friend's baby shower this weekend. She and I grew up together in church (her mom was actually my piano teacher as a child) and I have been asked to give a 10-15 minute devotional to the group. I am honored to be asked, and feel very strongly to speak on godly motherhood. Please pray this week that God restores my voice so I am able to share. I (and I hope the ladies at the baby shower) appreciate it! :o)

As an aside: my busy fingers at the keyboard merely compensate for the fact that in real life I can't say anything (the jury is still out on whether that disappoints Mr. Wilt or not)! ;o) LOL

In His joy, Mrs. Wilt

Merry Christmas to All!

Birdstophat I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas with family and friends! We will be beginning our Christmas adventures with family this week, and I know I won't be at the computer as much. :o)

Some things I wanted to let everyone know:

  • After Christmas, there will be some changes here at the Nest as we complete the adventure of downsizing and get our home ready to put on the market. You may not see me around here as much for a few months. I will do my best to check in and say hello, but I do not plan to post every day.
  • Also, after much thought and prayerful consideration, Nesthaus will be closing down after the holidays. I will make an attempt to contact everyone waiting on merchandise, and then I will close the blog. My merchandise is simply dwindling away...not a bad thing! LOL Instead, I will periodically put several of the remaining items online with a much-reduced clearance price. Anyone interested gets the item if he/she is willing to pay for shipping. My e-books will still remain online for anyone wishing to purchase. I will also be contacting those who signed up for blog design and working with them on those in the meantime.  :o)

When life around our Nest begins to settle, you will see this sparrow much more frequently, I promise! Take care and have a very blessed Christmas! He is the "Reason for the Season!"

In His joy, Kelli Wilt
